Definitions.
AERODROME
CONTROL SERVICE. Air traffic
control service for aerodrome traffic.
AERODROME
CONTROL TOWER.
A unit established to provide air
traffic control service to aerodrome traffic.
AERODROME
TRAFFIC. All traffic
on the manoeuvring area of an aerodrome and all aircraft
flying in the vicinity of an aerodrome.
1. AIR
TRAFFIC CONTROL SERVICE. A SERVICE PROVIDED FOR THE PURPOSE OF :
a. Preventing
Collisions:
1)
between aircraft,
2) on
the manoeuvring area
between aircraft and obstructions, and
b. Expediting and Maintaining an Orderly Flow of Air Traffic.
2. Compliance
with the rules of the air
The operation of an aircraft either in flight or on the movement
area of an aerodrome shall be in compliance with the general rules, when in
flight, either with:
a) the visual flight rules; or
b) the instrument flight rules.
3. Responsibility for compliance with the rules of the air
The pilot-in-command of an
aircraft shall, whether manipulating the controls or not, be responsible for
the operation of the aircraft in accordance with the rules of the air, except
that the pilot-in-command may depart from these rules in circumstances that
render such departure absolutely necessary in the interests of safety.
